It’s here! We’re excited to announce the arrival of artisan tap wine at Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar in Charleston, SC. When you are in downtown Charleston, you will most definitely want to have a seat at our wine bar and have a sip…or two.
Distributed by the leading national tap wine producer, VinTap Wines, the new tap wine system allows Amen Street to offer an even greater selection of estate wines by the glass. The stainless steel keg system uses an inert gas to push the wine through the lines which protects the wine from oxidation and cork taint. The result? The wine remains “winery fresh” from the first glass to the last.
Tap wine has been popular on the West Coast for quite some time not only because of the quality and variety it provides, but also the keg system is environmentally-friendly. Producing and serving wine straight from the keg significantly reduces the amount of glass, cork and label usage that is required in bottled wine….items that end up in landfills. In fact, one keg is equal to 26 bottles of wine and the stainless steel kegs themselves are recyclable.
VinTap artisan wines have been a big hit at our sister restaurant, Stars Rooftop & Grill Room, and we are looking forward to Amen Street patrons enjoying them as well!

Picnic Table – 2011 Chardonnay, Napa Valley
Taste characteristics: Caramelized apples, brightened by an elegant citrus finish of lime and Meyer lemon
Forenzo – 2011 Pinot Grigio, Forenzo Vineyard, Mendocino
Taste characteristics: This small vineyard produces pure and linear flavors of honeydew melon and Fuji apple with a crisp finish of lemon and mineral notes
OUTOFBEER – 2011 Sauvignon Blanc, North Coast
Taste characteristics: Panaramic aromas and flavors of tangerine, nectarine and overtones of spice accompanied by a finish of honey, lemon and almond
Red Barn – 2011 Pinot Noir, California
Taste characteristics: Almond and cherry aromas, well defined fruit accompanied by an array of spices and roasted coffee. A rustic finish of poached plums, cranberry and lemon
