Chef Garrett Priester
Chef Garrett Priester comes from a family of great cooks in Beaufort, South Carolina. His rich culinary upbringing is evident in his appreciation of fresh, seasonal ingredients and his reverence for traditionally southern dishes found in and around the Lowcountry. He artfully combines the flavorful with the visually appealing, for finished dishes that are appealing to both the palate and the eyes.
“We eat with our eyes first. When I’m creating a new dish, I visualize the finished product and then backtrack.”
Chef Garrett first attended the Culinary Institute of Charleston, before training in some of the finest restaurant kitchens in Charleston. He honed his skills further by spending time in the Stars Rooftop & Grill Room and Southend Brewery kitchens, before joining us here at Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar. We can’t wait to see what he has in store for our menu!
