We’re proud to announce that Amen Street’s own bartender, Vince Lendacki, has partnered with Revelry Brewing to create a quintessentially-Southern beer. A loquat beer, coming soon from Revelry, is the fruit of Lendacki’s time here at Amen Street and his care in crafting new and creative cocktails for our menu.

It started with the Loquation

Revelry announced earlier this year they were looking for new and interesting fruit to brew a unique beer. Lendacki jumped on the chance to put into motion an idea for a new brew he’d been toying with since he first started working at Amen Street four years ago.

Early on in his tenure as Amen Street’s bartender, he was recreating the cocktail list and came up with the “Loquation”—loquat infused rum, loquat simple syrup, fresh lime, bitters and ginger beer, garnished with a lime twist and loquat.

What’s a loquat? It’s a golden fruit with a tangy, sweet taste that’s seen hanging from loquat trees throughout Charleston. It just so happens to make a fan-favorite cocktail—and now, an impressive new beer.

The “Broquat”

Named the “Broquat,” in homage to Lendacki’s tendency to skateboard around the South of Broad neighborhood filling his backpack with loquat fruit, the beer will be released soon under the Revelry Brewing label. The beer is a 7% ABV, loquat infused IPA that required 200 pounds of loquat fruit for its initial brew, which Lendacki collected himself!

Coming Soon

At the Broquat’s upcoming release, part of the proceeds will go to Lendacki’s charity of choice, Park Conservancy’s Charleston Trees. This uniquely southern fruit, brewed to perfection by Revelry Brewing, will help preserve our city’s charm and natural beauty through Charleston Trees. Congrats Vince!
