Thank you Charleston SC and Charleston City Paper readers for voting Amen Street’s seafood ceviche “best in Charleston”! Serving the best fresh, local seafood in Charleston is what we love to do and it’s fantastic to be recognized by our fellow Charlestonians!
So, you might be wondering – what makes for the “best” ceviche? Whether you travel to Peru where ceviche originated or ask folks in Charleston, the undisputed truth is the best ceviche is made with the freshest seafood. That is exactly what you will find at Amen Street. Chef Stephan Ollard’s signature is on every dish he creates and it’s no different with his ceviche.
Amen Street’s ceviche is perfect anytime, but is especially enjoyable during our famous Charleston Springtime weather. Whether you are visiting Charleston or are a local, ceviche has the power to transport you to a vacation state-of-mind…one of those great vacations that include sunshine, light breezes and not a care in the world. Yes, it’s really that good.
Amen Street’s ceviche is served chilled with fresh shrimp marinated in citrus, lime and fresh cilantro. It is light and refreshing with each distinct flavor perfectly popping with every bite. Served over a bed of greens with house-fried tortilla strips for scooping, our ceviche is a great choice for lunch or as an appetizer before dinner. Our generous portion makes it easy to share, but once you’ve taste it, we’re pretty confident you will want it all to yourself!
A word of warning – don’t let our ceviche’s full flavor fool you. Although it seems decadent, it is actually nutritious and moderately low in calories. Can it get any better? Maybe so, especially when paired with a light wine, such as a Sauvignon Blanc, that compliments the citrus flavor of the ceviche. Our outstanding servers will be happy to suggest a beverage from our extensive wine and beer menu that suits your personal taste.
If you’ve never tried Amen Street’s ceviche, we suggest you put it on your “must do” list right away. This week, Charleston is seeing some definite ceviche kind of weather and the forecast looks pretty good for the upcoming weekend.
We welcome you to come and taste for yourself why Amen Street made Charleston City Paper’s list for the “Best of 2012.” We look forward to seeing you soon and thanks for voting for us, Charleston!
